Case Story - Messy Rugrats
How does that famous saying go? “Don’t cry over spilled milk,” right?
Obviously, whoever came up with that sentiment didn’t have a 2-year-old rug rat who just spilled a whole bottle of milk all over their brand new and expensive silk rug! I was so close to tears with no idea what to do when my tiny toddler spilled the liquid everywhere as I watched helplessly from afar, as it seeped into my beautiful rug. I was at my wits end and none of my own cleaning products were shifting the stain plus I knew that if I left it too long that the damage might be irreversible and the stain might dry in and ruin the whole look of the rug. I also needed to be extra careful because silk can be so delicate, the wrong product could ruin the entire carpet which I couldn’t risk; it was a pricey statement piece and I just couldn’t afford to replace it with another one. After much consideration, I decided to just bite the bullet and call Carpet Cleaning Albany for expert advice and further information about their specific services and stain removal options.
They were so helpful over the phone and answered all the questions I put to them; they obviously had dealt with silk rugs many times before and knew exactly what cleaning them involved. I organized for the team to pay me a visit as soon as possible which, as a busy mom, was an absolute godsend and in next to no time, they came over with their equipment and took one look at the culprit (the unsightly milk stain, not my toddler of course)! They were so calm and assured me that they could fix the issue, which was such a relief to know when I thought the damage was done and my rug was beyond repair.
While they set about cleaning up the mess, I took the infamous milk spiller out for a quick jaunt in the play park and when we came home, the rug was absolutely gleaming and smelled divine. It was like nothing had happened! They advised me that it would only take a couple of hours to dry before I could use it again which was a lot quicker than I had initially thought. I was so pleased that my rug looked even better than it had done before the milk had even touched it with no sign of the horrible stain. I’m now confident that if my messy culprit spills their milk or anything else for that matter over any of my upholstery again that I’ll know exactly what to do to clean it properly. I guess with any luck, I’ll never be crying over anything spilled again!
